Friday, friday, FRIDAY!!!  Get ready for non-stop action, Action, ACTION!! (Read in monster truck announcer’s voice)

That’s right, this Friday the 2012-13 international season of short track gets underway with the first ISU Samsung Short Track World Cup.  The US Team has had an interesting year so far but the real test of the team’s mettle will be shown when they face the world.

To add to the melodrama, the first two world cups of the season start in… let me check… Oh yeah.  Canada.

Why is that significant?  Well, this will be the first time the US Team faces up to its Canadian rivals since the revelation that US skater Simon Cho tampered with Canadian Olivier Jean’s skates at the 2011 World Teams competition; and it will be on Canadian turf. This weekend begins in Calgary, then the world’s best heads to Montreal next week.

To get you pumped, check out the promo above – it’s going to be a wild ride!
