People are always curious about the training lives of Olympic athletes, but rarely do you get to peek into what really makes an athlete great. Lolo Jones is one of the most popular US athletes going into the London Olympic Games, but the amount of time she spends working out might surprise you: four hours per day.
Jones competes in the 100m hurdles, an event that lasts just 12 seconds. That means she has to be maximally explosive the second the gun goes off, and her training has to prepare her for that. What that means is that her workouts have to be intense – but not necessarily marathon in length.
Jones lives and trains near the LSU campus with the men’s track team and as this video shows, her day might not start early but she gets a lot done.
