Oh boy. Well, just days after we rung what we thought was the death knell on the whole toe-shoe thing. A new company, called Sazzi hits, the scene to bring us… Toe sandals. These five-fingered flops are brought to you by the guy who invented Teva – which should be surprising. To absolutely no one.
Based loosely on the ancient Pueblo Native American Anasazi’s ‘two-post’ sandals, which provided increased toe control when climbing up and over uneven terain, Mark Thatcher‘s company takes the notion to the 2012 extreme. Yeah, they’re toe-sandals. The recent barefoot running wave certainly offer validation to the concept – although the actual merits of this type of footwear has not been firmly established.
The products come in any number of eye-melting colors and we’re positive that many people will like these and buy them. Perhaps DailyHouse should get into the ancillary market – white toe socks - to capture that segment of the market that loved wearing their white socks with their Tevas. Or, maybe not.
What do you guys think? Toe sandals – yay or nay?
