Daily House has given a lot of attention to ocean sports lately, so today I thought it would be nice to have a different kind of surfing. Skating started as sidewalk surfing and now has exploded into a glory of its own. However, the flow and surfing origins of the sport are still ever apparent in vert ramps. Check out this vid called “Session at the Abyss” from the recent Monster and DC vert party. The large tombstone is in honor of vert pro skater Jeff Phillips who died 18 years ago but is still deeply cared about by skaters and skateboarding itself.
